Introvert Myths
I have so much feelings over this topic. I've always known I am an introvert but when I read something like this it surprises me more to discover how much of an introvert I actually am. The things I do in daily life are apparently very obvious of my introverted behavior.

I stumbled on this topic on linked in while browsing. You can read the full post here. I just can't believe how spot on the myths are about my own behavior, and frankly I'm a little happy that there are people who think and act just like I do. ^^

The first myth, introverts don't like to talk, is really the typical stereotype. I think I'm currently experiencing this on my new work. I feel a lot of pressure in having to show my new workmates that I have already adjusted and that I can already spend time with them and hang out with them like we've known each other for years as opposed to only 3 months. The thing is I don't do 'forced relationships' (that's what I call it in my head), the kind where you rush to be close or get close to someone. In the 23 years that I've lived in this world, rushing myself into any kind of relationship will not guarantee a lasting bond. It just doesn't work for me that way.

I've also written something here before about myth #4 (introverts don't like people) and how much I only have a handful of friends. This is still true to this day, some friends got added recently into the circle of people I trust but I'm sure they are still less than 25. I am actually proud of this trait, it just makes me feel good to know that I choose my friends and the people I trust well. Maybe introverts are not into getting too much of things? Like too much stimulation of sort (stress in the office, family or friend problems, or any complication) will shut us down most of the time. That's how it is for me.

Anyway, I just realized that maybe I should try to research about introversion more. It got me interested and I'm pretty sure I can learn a lot of things about this topic and probably get tips on how to use my introvert tendencies in a positive way.
